Rut Follow Up

First I want to say thank you for all the supportive comments I got after my last post. Thanks so much!

So now that I am not in the moment (the one where I was sick from eating too much) I can see things a little bit more rationally.

Bottom line, weekends are going to happen. Yes, I want to lose weight. But more importantly, I am trying to live a sustainable healthy lifestyle. To me, losing the weight quickly is not as important as living my life in a way that is possible for the long term. I am going to have to learn how to deal with weekends. They aren't going away. I am going to have to figure out a way to make things work. Maybe extra exercise. Maybe small portions of the things I want to eat. Make trade-offs.

What are some ideas that have worked for you when it comes to weekends?

Your outlook is very positive. I feel the same way. It is hard for me to balance my need for weight loss with my dreams to live life to it's fullest....especially while I am living in Europe. There are so many things, foods, countries I want to experience but I feel I am held back due to always being on a diet. I think you are doing great. I LOVE the site, all your tips and your attitude. You are REAL...you are not some magazine cover telling us that we can "melt away belly fat" :-)

I take one free day a week...usually Saturdays. That way I know I can have one day of freedom from counting calories and working out. Sundays we spend most of our days at church so eating is not a problem. Friday nights I just tell myself...I've got Saturday to splurge!
